My new job is great, don’t get me wrong. However it seems that we go through a process generally referred to as “Feast or Famine”.

I get to work the of the largest networks in the world, seriously. We are in the top five of the largest networks and am currently employed as a Security/Abuse Engineer handing relatively interesting tasks, when we get them. However this week it has been very very slow. In the last 3 days I have accomplished a total of about 3 hours of work, the rest of the time has been spent on my laptop reading various blogs, new sites, deal sites, and Ebay, with a dash of WP & PHP support forums mixed in.

There are a few things I am procrastinating about:

    • Writing a walkthough regarding the set up of a Linksys router so that my father-in-law can transfer files from desktop to laptop.
    • Filling out the Verzion employee discount form so that I can get 10% off of my bill since I work where I work.
    • Filling out my two exprense reports for my home internet and my cell phone.

I will more then likely write the walkthough either later today or this evening, the Verzion and expense crap can wait until Friday.

If you have any interesting links that you would think I would enjoy, please let me know.

    HumpDay

    November 23rd, 2005

    Work:
The upper management finally did something right…they told everyone to go home around 12, due to the fact that they believed that “productivity” would be rather low today. So the 4 of us quit our 4 hour bullshit session about computers, politics, what we would do if we won the lottery, and packed up for the day.

Management, might have been right on the mark this time.

    Remodeling:
I just finished painting over all the faux finishing work that I spent a weekend doing, and tomorrow Monk and I are going to re-apply the faux to the whole room, and with her help this time, it should turn out this time. The new furniture arrives Friday morning first thing.

    Thanksgiving:
Tomorrow evening will be spent at Mom’s house, she is hosting once again. In case I don’t log in, have a great Thanksgiving!!

P.S. Heather, over at (not-so-surprisingly) AllThingsHeather, has not smoked 183 cigarettes. Stop by and give her some encouragement, she might need it.
